What is Cool Sitemapper ?

Cool Sitemapper is a french software (an english version is in progress) that create sitemap files for a good indexing on the web with Google, Yahoo and more.

How many does it cost ?

This software is free (freeware) in this version. Yous can't modify it, distribute it for free (except with our permission) or sell it in no way. You can insert a link on your website to http://www.cool-sitemapper.com without problem ;)

Is it working with all computers ?

Cool Sitemapper working with all computers with Windows XP/NT/Vista/Seven.

What is the generated sitemap version ?

With the last one (0.9 when we write this page).

What is a sitemap file and what is the use of it ?

A sitemap file is an XML file which is present in you website. You can upload it to google(tm) (for exemple) to give it the list of all the pages you want or your website to be sure that google have them in his web engine index. You can choose what sort of files you want to be included in the sitemap. The file's name is generally sitemap.xml or googlemap.xml but you can choose toto.xml if you want. Sitemap format is recognized by Google, Yahoo, Ask and MSN.

Is Cool Sitemapper will still be developped ?

Yes regularly, according to the requests from the users and the sitemap format development.

What are the integrated options ?

You can generate a simple sitemap file with all the HTML and PHP file of your website (this is the default value) or decide to select others formats. You also can decide to generate an advanced sitemap format with priority an changes frequency.

What can I do if I have a problem with Cool Sitemapper ?

If you have a problem with the software you can send a mail to the author and your comments will be taken into account and an answer will be sent. Major bugs wil be taken into account in priority.

Cool Sitemapper is not working with my Windows Vista or Seven !

Windows Vista or Seven drastically manage the users rigths. If Cool Sitemapper can't be launched, try to do it in 'administrator mode'.

Where to put the generated sitemap file ?

The software will install the sitemap file (.XML file) in the directory you will choose on your hard drive. We suggest you save it in the root directory that contains the original files from your site in order to then send it via FTP, but you can choose to save wherever you want. You can then transfer it as you would with your regular files via FTP management program, making sure to put in the root of your site and especially not in a subdirectory !

Important: be sure to set the address of your sitemap in your robots.txt file. Add a line to your file type:
Sitemap: http://www.monsite.com/sitemap.xml
With of course the address of your site and the name you gave to your sitemap file.
